Archie came to us facing some serious challenges. He had a diaphragmatic hernia that required surgery, and he was also heartworm positive. These are big hurdles for such a brave pup — but he isn’t facing them alone. With the care of our team and the love of our supporters, Archie will get every bit of support he needs to overcome these obstacles and move toward the healthy, happy life he deserves.
On April 30, 2026, Archie had diaphragmatic hernia surgery. He recovered and now it’s on to the next thing!
He has been neutered and is now healthy enough to begin treatment for his heartworm. He will start his injections end of July or early August 2026. It is not an easy protocol for any dog to undertake. He will have a series of 3 injections, following the treatment guidelines which are used in the US and Canada. Once those are completed after a few months, he will be retested. He is not available for adoption at this time.
