Archie came to us facing some serious challenges. He had a diaphragmatic hernia that required surgery, and he was also heartworm positive. These are big hurdles for such a brave pup — but he isn’t facing them alone. With the care of our team and the love of our supporters, Archie will get every bit of support he needs to overcome these obstacles and move toward the healthy, happy life he deserves.
On April 30, 2026, Archie had diaphragmatic hernia surgery. He recovered and then started injections to treat his heartworm. He has now completed treatment for his heartworm. He had a series of 3 injections, following the treatment guidelines which are used in the US and Canada. He is very playful but tends to only play with dogs who are larger than him. He does not pay attention to smaller dogs. While he hasn’t been cat tested, he has a bit of a prey drive. He often sits at the fence to watch the iguanas, dreaming of the day he can catch one. He is available now for adoption.
