We are extremely proud to introduce to you the Board of A Dogs New Life A.C.

Jessica Garibay Pineda

founder/president

I'm originally from Mexico City but now reside in the Puerto Vallarta area, where I've lived for the past 30 years.

My passion... Dogs

I live for the dogs in need...

Back in October 2018, I decided to do something for the voiceless after rescuing one and realizing the lack of help from other organizations due to the overpopulation and lack of funds.

Now I live at the shelter and am in charge of the operations to take care, rehabilitate and find homes for over 130 dogs with the help of our amazing team and Board Members.

Karen Chesson

Shelter operations/Adoptions coordinator

Originally from the United States (Nebraska), Karen has lived in Bucerias since 2017, having moved from Denver, CO.  She has a BS in Dental Hygiene. Growing up, her family always had dogs and only adopted them from rescues. So it's easy to see why helping dogs in need has become a passion for her.

Karen has three former street dogs herself, one rescued from the streets of Bucerias, two from ADNL. She began feeding and caring for some of the less fortunate dogs in town then decided to become involved with ADNL, to help make a bigger impact.

When she isn't volunteering with dogs, she can be found at the beach, running, weight lifting or traveling with her husband.

Her hope is to help educate people on the importance of caring for their dogs so we can reduce the number of strays, neglected and abused animals in the bay.

Jorie Rizzuto

director

I am originally from Toronto, Canada, and moved to the Bay of Banderas with my husband in 2019. Dogs have always held a very special place in our hearts, and here in Mexico almost everywhere you turn there are dogs on the streets who are just seeking a safe haven, food, and affection. Our family had already adopted 9 dogs, but it was clear there was a bigger need for help.

I first learned of A Dog’s New Life in 2022 when I volunteered to be a flight angel for a sweet puppy looking to find his way to his forever home. A Dog’s New Life has been able to make a significant, positive, impact on the dogs in and around Bucerias, and I am honored to be able to support this wonderful organization whose goal is to help not only street dogs, but also dogs in need within the community.
