Every adoption begins with the right match.

Adopt From A Dog’s New Life

Our dogs are rescued and cared for in Bucerías, Mexico. We carefully match each dog with an adopter and arrange travel with approved flight angels when needed.

Before You Apply

• We can only adopt dogs to destinations with available flights from Mexico.

• All dogs arrive on a trial basis, so the adopter and dog have time to make sure the match is right.

• If the placement is not a good fit, the adopter agrees to foster the dog temporarily while A Dog’s New Life handles all advertising, applications, screening and placement.

• We are a volunteer-run rescue with limited capacity. Please apply only when you are ready to adopt, have discussed the decision with your family and will be available throughout the process. If you are preparing to travel, please wait until you return to apply.

• Please review our Puppy Placement Policy below before applying.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees are non-refundable and help cover rescue care for all our dogs, including our permanent residents. Every adopted dog receives rabies and core vaccinations, sterilization, parasite treatment and any additional medical care needed following rescue.

Puppy Placement Policy

A Dog’s New Life follows a placement policy designed to ensure lifelong stability for every dog. Because puppies have a significantly longer expected lifespan, we place them only in homes where long‑term care is clearly sustainable for the duration of the dog’s life. For applicants aged 65 and above, we therefore prioritize matching with adult or senior dogs to minimize the likelihood of future rehoming. This policy is based on the dog’s welfare and long‑term needs, not on any assumptions about the adopter.

🐾 Sanctuary Dogs & Forever Foster Program

Click the button below to see our Sanctuary Dogs. These beloved pups will live out their lives safely and happily in our care.

In special cases, we consider placing senior dogs, bully breeds, or those with ongoing medical needs into loving Forever Foster homes. This program is ideal for people living independently in the Bay of Banderas who want companionship but may not feel comfortable committing to full adoption — especially if future care is a concern.

Under the Forever Foster program, A Dog’s New Life A.C. retains ownership and covers all veterinary visits, medications, and preventative care.

Your donations, along with a portion of adoption fees from dogs we adopt out, help provide food and medical care for our permanent sanctuary residents.
