Flight Angels

to Canada

Sincerely, THANK YOU for volunteering to be a flight angel and being a part of our dog’s story in getting them home!

The first step is submitting your flight itinerary to adogsnewlife.adoptions@gmail.com or complete the form click Flight Itinerary here. We need to have accurate information so that we can properly book the dogs in the cabin or cargo hold (crates) waiting to go home. The airlines require us to give:

  • names of the specific fliers

  • flight date & destination(s)

  • email & telephone numbers

  • sometimes address & birth date

If you have reservations about sharing your privacy information, we completely respect your concerns. Please feel free to communicate any apprehensions you may have. If you are unable to commit to providing this information before we proceed with booking our dogs, kindly inform us, as a considerable amount of effort goes into the preparations, confirmations, and arrangements for their flight.

Our rescue will make a group chat that includes the Flight Angels, Adopters, and anyone else involved in your flight so that we can all be in communication easily. This may be through Facebook Messenger/Whatsapp or mobile text. We will provide paperwork that you will need for customs, which could include a letter (that we create and give you unless you print it off ) that has the name and information of the specific fliers and the adopter's details. It will include the name of the dog, breed, the time they entered the shelter, etc. This document is required if you are escorting a dog. Please provide us with accurate details please so that we don't have to update this letter and everything runs smoothly for you on the day of the flight.

Day of the flight: A member from our rescue will meet you (most often at the pet relief area/unless otherwise agreed upon) with the dogs at the airport, prior to the flight. You cannot check in for your flight without the dogs and their paperwork physically with you. We provide and bring the transportation crates they will need. The adopters will be taking their dog's crate/bag home unless other arrangements have been made of course. We will provide you with the Health Certificate that you will need to fly the dog(s). The "Health Certificate" will say when the dog had their rabies vaccine, when they were spayed/neutered, and other information including the Veterinarian that completed the procedure. We will also provide you with their booklet that has more of their vaccination information enclosed to give to the adopters(s) at the customs office after you arrive. There will be a customs inspection fee for the dogs to be paid at the Canada Customs office. It is up to you how adopters can pay you back for this fee. The fee is split up and totals up to $40.

Please take a picture! While we would love to be there with everyone throughout the entire process- unfortunately, we can’t. Taking a picture once the dogs are with their new puppy parents gives everyone peace of mind knowing everyone has made it!

Thank you, we simply couldn’t have done this without you, and please consider being a Flight Angel for us if you travel again to our destination again in the future!

Flight Angels

to USA

Sincerely, thank you for volunteering to be a flight angel and being a part of our dogs story in getting them home!

The first step is submitting your flight itinerary. You can send it to our adogsnewlife.adoptions@gmail.com or click here We need this info in order to have accurate information so that we can properly book the dogs in the cargo hold(crates) waiting to go home. The airlines requires us to give them the names of the specific fliers, flight date, destination(s), email, telephone numbers, sometimes address and birth date depending on how you booked your flight and if you have a membership, etc. If there is concern for your privacy information, we understand if you are not comfortable, just let us know of your concern if you are not able to make this commitment before we book our dogs, as a lot of work go into getting them set up, confirmed, etc. Once we have successfully booked the space for the sog on your flight, we will let you know.

The week of the flight, our rescue will make a group chat that includes the Flight Angels, Adopters, and anyone else involved for your flight, so that we can all be in communication easily. This may be through Facebook Messenger/Whatsapp or mobile text.

The most efficient and fast way to get these dogs home is to fly them as if they were you own dogs and you adopted them. It saves a lot of time going through customs when you get off the plane, plus so many of our flight Angels have enjoyed having their own "rescue pup" for the day :) All of the paperwork would be in your name, and the adopters meet you by baggage claim after your flight.

If you have concern claiming the dog as your own and that doesn't work for you, you can be a flight "escort". You will need a letter (that we create and give you) that include the name and information of the flier escorting the dog(s) and the adopters' details. It will include the name of the dog, breed, time they entered the shelter, etc. This document is required if you are escorting a dog. Please provide us with accurate details please so that we don't have to update this letter and everything runs smoothly the day of the flight.

If flying a dog in cargo, they usually come out of the oversized baggage claim area. This is usually where the adopters will meet you, however the dogs will need to stay in their crate until you get there. It's super helpful to take a picture or a few to send us in the flight chat, that's our way to verify the dog(s) have arrived safely and they are with the new adopters as planned.

Thank you so very much for your willingness to help one of our rescues get home, we truly appreciate your efforts and hope that you will consider helping us again, next time you visit Puerto Vallarta ❤️
