Buster was found by one of our volunteers on a Friday night, on the north end of Bucerias. He was alone and had mange. She was easily able to grab him and protect him for a night before we could get him to our vet. Besides the non-contagious mange, he had very low platelets and was anemic. He was treated with antibiotics. He also tested negative for heartworm. He has since been neutered and vaccinated.
He is out free range now with many dogs his size and larger. He is good with the other dogs but will also make it clear if someone is invading his space. We have not seen any aggression from him but he will give a growl and show his teeth if another male dog gets to close to his face; sending a warning. He is fairly playful at times and very talkative. He loves people and craves affection. He really is a sweet boy and a great size. His mange has almost fully healed so he is now available for adoption.
