Chewie was found abandoned with 4 other pups not far from the shelter. They make up our Star Wars litter. He is medium in size. This is a very social and loving litter of puppies! This guy is gentle and a favorite of our volunteers and anyone who meets him. He is the largest of his littermates and the only brown one of the bunch. He is great with people and other dogs. Chewbacca is fully ready for adoption and to share his love with a family of his own.
Chewbacca’s Bio (from foster): Chewbacca is a goofy, silly boy who brings so much joy to the house. He’s fully house‑trained with no accidents, loves to cuddle, and is very submissive. He gets along wonderfully with his foster brother, and having another dog around helps him feel confident—so a home with a playful companion would be ideal.
He still has some puppy moments as he is still young, like trying to chew random things, but he’s eager to please and stops when corrected and is already making great progress with training. He is food motivated. On leash he pulls a bit, but he’s smart and responsive, even sitting when asked without treats, which shows how much he loves people and wants to connect.
It took Chewbacca a little time to warm up when he first made the trip to San Diego, but once comfortable he settled in and is incredibly sweet and affectionate—the definition of a “velcro dog.” He thrives on human contact and will happily soak up attention in any form, even if it’s just a toe nearby.
