Female - Mixed Breed

Age: June 2023 | Weight: 10kg

We were told about Fergie through a staff member. Apparently her family moved and left her in the streets, pregnant. A neighbor protected her but she almost immediately went into labor. She started on a Thursday and by Saturday, she still didn’t have the puppies, so our staff member let us know what was going on. We instructed them to see a vet immediately. They did but the vet didn’t do a thing. So, we had them take her to our vet who performed a c-section. Of course by that time all of the puppies had died. She was also spayed at the same time. She seems to have an old injury to her pelvis and back left leg. Our vet thinks due to her old injury, she was not able to push the pups out, which is why she struggled to deliver.

She is now at the shelter resting. It’s taken her a good week to want to trust any of us but she has already shown alot of improvement. She is on the smaller side but she is not an in cabin sized dog. We will update here as we learn more about her. She will be ready for adoption by the end of June.
