🐾 Our Gentle Sanctuary Boy
Freckles has been with us since January 2024 and will remain a permanent sanctuary resident due to renal failure, which gives him both good days and harder ones. Despite his health challenges, he continues to show us his gentle spirit and quiet resilience.
Freckles was one of 23 dogs seized from a home in San Vicente, Nayarit, after a vet reported the conditions during a sterilization clinic. Nearly 40 dogs were crammed into a small space, most covered in fleas, with puppies underweight and weak. All of them were suffering from erlichea and anemia.
Freckles arrived as a little puppy, and today he has grown into a long‑legged, sweet boy. He is calm and affectionate, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has a face that melts hearts.
Because of his medical condition, Freckles will remain in our care for life as a cherished sanctuary dog. He is a reminder of the strength and sweetness that can emerge even from the hardest beginnings.
