Gino
Male - Mixed Breed
🐾 Our Resilient Senior
Gino came to us in April 2025, after we were contacted about two dogs in rough shape who had been abandoned near the dump in Punta Mita. They had been left in the care of a man living in very unsuitable conditions himself. On April 15, both dogs were welcomed into our shelter family.
Estimated to be 10–12 years old, Gino arrived with multiple health challenges: erlichea, anemia, malnourishment, and heartworm positive. Despite this, he has shown remarkable resilience. Alongside his companion, he quickly settled in and is now in good spirits, enjoying time with the other dogs.
Because of his age and heartworm status, Gino will remain a cherished sanctuary dog. He is available locally as a forever foster but otherwise will live out his golden years with us, surrounded by care, companionship, and love.
Gino is a gentle soul who has endured so much, yet continues to show joy and gratitude every day. We are honored to give him the safe, loving life he deserves.
