🐾 Our Chill Senior Sanctuary Dog
Guapo has been with us since February 2021 and is estimated to be at least 14 years old. When he first arrived, he was in rough shape after living on the streets. He suffered from a severe infection, including a large lump on the side of his neck that had to be drained and treated with antibiotics. He also battled a terrible case of mange, requiring extensive care before he was no longer contagious.
After spending time in a kennel to recover, Guapo settled in at the shelter and found his rhythm. These days, he enjoys a quieter life — laying in the shade, watching the other dogs, and soaking up the calm around him. He’s a gentle soul who loves attention, happily coming out for hugs and pets. Nothing makes him happier than curling up on a big, comfy bed and being close to people.
Because of his age, Guapo will remain a cherished sanctuary dog. He would thrive in a local forever foster home, where he could enjoy the comfort and companionship he deserves in his golden years, but he hasn’t had interest. Until then, he will continue to be loved and cared for here at the shelter.
