matilda

Female - flat coated retriever mix

Age: February 2024 | Weight: 12.5kg

She is available in Mission BC!

Matilda came into our care in February 2024. She was living in the street, likely abandoned, and someone was feeding her. They noticed once day she appeared to have been bitten on the face. That’s when we were contacted. She was a darling while in our care. Great with other dogs and around people. She left our care in September 2024 and flew to Seattle, where she was picked up by her new family from Misson. We were recently contacted (May ‘25) about some family changes which don’t allow them to keep Matilda long term. The family has agreed to foster her until we can get her rehomed.

She is still current on her vettings; vaccines, blood/heartworm tests, has been spayed and is microchipped(registered now to the rescue). Some notes from her foster: I think seh would prefer a home with no kids or older kids, as the activity of small kids makes her a bit scared, especially the loud noises. She is housebroken super social with other dogs, good on leash and does great in a kennel. She can take some time to warm up to new people. We do feel a home with another dog would be best for her.She has done some postive reinforcement training as well to work on her recall and anxiety to new things.

Matilda is available now and there will be an adopt/rehoming fee of $400cad, to ensure she will be going to a home who plans to keep her for the remainder of her life, no matter what happens. We do not want her to move from home to home, so her next home truly needs to be her forever home. Serious applicants only!
