Male-Pitbull mix

DOB: September 2024 | Weight: 17kg

Rino had been spotted not far from the shelter. For about a week Jessica tried to rescue him but he always managed to run away. One day she saw him standing still, apparently injured. She was able to grab him with the help of two men who were passing by. Surprisingly, Rino did not test positive to erlichea. But he was anemic and definitely underweight. He has marks all over his body. We aren’t sure if it is scarring from something and if so, what. He had a small would on his side which did have screwworms inside. The area was treated with medication and they quickly died. That wound in now healing. He had a dislocated shoulder so must have been run over while out by the shelter. It was put back into place but he could have some ligament damage as well. We need to let him rest to fully be able to evaluate. He also tested positive to heartworm. He will soon be starting his injections and will be neutered when those are complete.

We will be testing him around some other dogs shortly to see how he does. He may not like male dogs but stay tuned!
