Sarge
Male - Mixed Breed
Age: June 2020 | Weight: 30kg
Sarge was tied to the shelter fence with 3 other dogs while the shelter was closed. He was healthy but was not neutered. He is now. He clearly came from a home and from someone who provided for him, but chose to abandon him. He gets along very well with the 3 dogs he came in with but he is choosy with other dogs. He can be a bit on the defense with some dogs but it seems to come from a lack of confidence. He would do best as an only dog or with female dogs where he can be an alpha. The shelter environment isn’t good for him. We are convinced he came from a home with how healthy he was. He also knows basic commands such as sit and shake. He can also play fetch and walks well on leash. It’s a shame he was abandoned to our care.
He is good with humans and we think he would be an amazing family dog. Zara, likely his true sister who he came in with, lives in a home now with children and is so gentle. Children over 12 is the best though, as young unpredictable kids might scare him. He deserves a happy home and someone who won’t leave him behind. The shelter is not the place for this sweet dog. He is a favorite of many shelter volunteers and the staff.
