Skinny is a boy who was rescued during a storm in a canal in Mexico. It was a frightening experience for him so he’s still learning to trust. He is estimated to be 2-3 years old. His original rescuer had him in boarding for three months while trying to find him a home. Sadly she had no luck and couldn’t keep paying to board him so reached out to us for help.
Skinny is currently out around many dogs all day long at the shelter. He does quite well. He doesn’t seem to be a fan of young puppies getting in his face, but so far is doing well with other medium and large dogs. He needs work on the leash, as most of them do. He can take a little bit of time to trust and can flinch at times if you reach for him. For this reason we do not recommend young children since their movements can be more unpredictable.
What Skinny needs most is a patient, loving family who will give him the time and reassurance he deserves. In return, he’ll offer loyalty, companionship, and the quiet joy of a dog who’s finally found his place.
