Lana and Tuco were rescued together. Lana was spotted a week prior to rescue, but we weren’t able to catch her. When we spotted her again, Tuco was with her and he was in worse condition than Lana. They were most likely abandoned and were found near Paraiso Vallarta, which is a housing development about 10 minutes from the shelter.
We truly found Tuco just in time. He was extremely malnourished, suffering from non‑contagious mange, and anemic. He also tested positive for heartworm. Tuco has since completed his treatment and now tests negative!
Tuco is super sweet and loves to bury his face in your lap. He’s now out with other dogs and doing wonderfully. Despite all he has endured, this little guy is so happy. He is small but not cabin‑sized—he’s too long to fit in a travel bag—so he would need to fly in a crate.
