Lana and Tuco were rescued together. Lana was spotted a week prior to rescue but we weren’t able to grab her. Then seeing her again, Tuco was with her and he was in worse shape. They were most likely abandoned and were found near Paraiso Vallarta, which is a housing development about 10 minutes from the shelter.
We really found Tuco just in time. He was extremely malnourished and has non-contagious mange. Of course he was anemic too. He tested positive to heartworm. We can treat him here or he can go to an adopter and be treated. First we wanted to make sure all his vetting and neuter were completed.
He is super sweet and loves to bury his face into your lap. He is now out with other dogs and is totally fine. This guy really is so happy for all he has endured. He is small but not in cabin sized, being to long to fit in a bag, so would need to travel in a crate.
