Tula, a one-year-old female, seemed to know exactly where she was going on June 4. While Nayarit government officials were in a meeting, Tula walked in, as if hoping for her chance to meet the Bahia President himself, Hector Santana. She appeared to have an injury to her back left paw and was favoring the leg. Fortunately, she was noticed and brought to safety. She was first examined by their veterinarian before being transferred to our shelter because the state of Nayarit still does not have a municipal shelter.
It appears that Tula’s back left paw was likely run over. The good news is that she is already beginning to use it again and, with a little more time to heal, is expected to make a full recovery. Her bloodwork looks great, and overall, she appears to be a healthy young dog. She has already been vaccinated, dewormed, and received NexGard Spectra.
Tula has quickly won over everyone she meets. She is incredibly sweet, social, and playful. She loves other dogs, enjoys toys, and can often be found splashing around in the water tubs.
