Wera was spotted on the highway between Punta Mita and La Cruz, on September 4, 2026. She had been hit by a car. Thankfully, of the two cars who pulled over to check on her, one of them picked her up and rushed her to a vet. She had a fractured hip on the right side and had surgery the following day. After a few days recovery at the surgeon in Puerto Vallarta, we received her at the shelter. She is currently resting comfortably and on the road to recovery. She is a very sweet girl who is excited to have attention and seems to do fine around the other dogs. Of course those interactions are being limited while she recovers.
She is small but is not in cabin sized, being too large for an in cabin sized bag. Keep an eye out for when she is ready to find a home!
